3rd Place, Professional Non-Original Without Instruction

This Brenda Stofft rabbit was a joy to stitch. The sky stitch suggests the spring winds. The fur thread is Petite Peluche and Medici, combined in the needle for long and short. An open stitch (skip tent) allow the painted canvas to show in the mid-ground. Brazilian Boucle made up the carrot tops. The original background hills were painted yellow. I changed the color to a dull green and used two smaller patterns that reversed directions to revel more than one hill. A few embellishments were added to capture the viewer’s eye, although the rabbit’s face is clearly the focal point.
