3rd Place, Non-Professional Japanese Embroidery

This is a design with color definition and instruction by Midori Mashushima of Japan. It represents fields, streams, and stars at dusk. While it may appear as a somewhat “different” design for Japanese embroidery, all stitches, threads, and methods are traditional for Japanese embroidery.

I was initially undecided about this piece, but as I focused on the colors and geometric stitches, I couldn’t resist.
