Second Place
I was lucky to take this classic workshop from Genny Morrow in 1991. I finished my last square about ten days before the end of 2014.
Genny told us that she designed the layout of the color gradation with a huge supply of salesman shirt fabric samples. The needlepoint squares represent the irregular cuttings of the fabrics with occasional off-center prints and other irregularities.
Genny had the small squares laid out flat on a large board that she carried back and forth to her local Amish quilt shop where the ladies helped her with the arrangement. One day she walked into a door jam and knocked many of the pieces out of place!
We can all relate to that setback!
