Come visit the roof garden of Rose Gloria’s penthouse; it’s the perfect place for a relaxing afternoon. Rose has her own magical getaway up on top of her condo building where she tends her flowers and communes with her own small patch of nature in the sky. Our girl waters her flowers as her cat looks on, both enjoying the clear blue summer sky.

The five pots plus Rose herself are the focus of the design; and so are worked in bright colors and, in the case of the flowers, in raised stitches. The buildings in the background are mostly stitches in values of neutral hues; certainly they are not the focal point, but they add infinite interest as background. The foreground building—Rose Gloria’s home—is more distinct, with interesting stitches and a more vibrant color. And don’t overlook the small bluebird which has made its nest on the cornice of the window.
