Honorable Mention, Professional Non-Original Without Instruction

This calico cat by Danji Designs was stitched in the winter months before the trees budded out. The piece caught my eye because there were so many painted pattern areas. I selected stitches and changed some colors to go with a beige cat face instead of the original bright yellow face. The Milanese background in an overdyed blue navy was a challenge to execute behind the spider web done in cross stitches. The batik fabric was found after the piece was completed and placed in order to enhance the bright moon.
