Honorable Mention, Professional Non-Original with Instructions

This piece is Tidings of Great Joy created by La D Da. I was drawn to the words, first of all, and then by the colors and border. Every other December I am part of a team that coordinates a Nativity Walk at our church. I thought the words of this piece would be another quiet way to share the birth of Jesus with our visitors.

I used the 36 ct Wren Edinburg linen called for in the pattern as well as the overdyed Gentle Arts Sampler Threads and Weeks Dye Works floss. I used the floss as it came off the skein and stitched over two threads, again following the pattern directions.

While I normally do not stitch samplers, I am pleased with the final result and am looking forward to putting it on display at our next Nativity Walk.
