Honorable Mention, Non-Professional Non-Original with Instructions
Adapted from: Blue Hills by Dawn Donnelly
I knew, as soon as I saw “Blue Hills” by Dawn Donnelly I wanted to do this piece. I signed up for the class with Dawn, and asked her if I might lighten the colors to adapt to a Florida beach setting. Dawn immediately agreed that it was fine with her.
I loved the class and Dawn is an excellent teacher and designer. This piece was fun to do. Her choice of techniques and stitches were, I felt,
perfect for both the ‘hills’ and the ‘beach’. I basically just lightened the colors, added beads, and changed one of the stitches in the water.
I did quite a bit more embellishing with knots, beads, and shells.
I feel the overall finished project looks like “Low Tide on a Florida Beach”!
