Second Place

I am interested using pulled thread stitches as a landscape texture. I think it is particularly effective in a beach setting.

My Charlevoix cottage is on Lake Michigan. The lake levels are still low so our beach is rocky and covered with wildflowers and grasses. There are Petoskey stones galore. In the spring the wild iris blooms along with various white and yellow flowers.

The fibers in the piece range from cotton to silk. The grass is silk raffia. There are real Petoskey stones collected from my beach as well as various beads.
