Dolores Andrew
Dolores M. Andrew is an artist and designer who creates work in a variety of media in the needleart and fine art disciplines, often depicting the same subject in each discipline.
Dolores is a NAN-certified teacher, a NAN-certified Master Teacher, and has completed the NAN Honors program. Her Honors topic was a research of Italian Renaissance Textiles, which took her to several Italian cities.
She is also a NAN-certified Master Judge, and was NAN’s Director of Judging Certification for six years. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Maryland Institute College of Art. Dolores is a retired Associate Professor of Art at Essex Community College in Baltimore County, Maryland. In the summer, she lives in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where she has been on the faculty of the Rehoboth Art League for many years. In the art world, her favorite media are pen and ink, watercolor, and soft pastel, which she now teaches in workshop format.
In addition to her work as a teacher and judge, Dolores is a designer, lecturer, and author. She is active in several art and embroidery organizations. She has judged local, and national shows for more than thirty-five years. Dolores has written and illustrated three books on textile subjects (Italian Renaissance Textile Designs, Medieval Tapestry Designs, and American Sampler Designs). She is represented by several galleries, and her art work has been accepted in juried exhibitions throughout the U.S.
