The Dolores Andrew Award

An abyss, chasm, or crevice displays the icy realms of the earth, but also can mean a profound difference between people. This piece, a companion to my Fire and Ice piece, uses dramatic stitches to create the icy cold perfection in the high and low columns that represent the icy crevasse. The background continues the feel with a sparkly darning pattern that could be icy snow or sleet. Both the pale blue congress cloth and the use of silks with silk/metallic combinations help to further display an icy realm.
