3rd Place, Non-Professional Non-Original with Instruction

This Tapestry Tent canvas was stitched using the stitch guide by Susan Portra, published in three issues of the Needlepoint Now magazine. In the stitch guide, the option was given to ‘paint out’ the dog on the canvas and extend the eagle’s feathers in its place. Obviously, I elected to keep the dog! Threads were kept close to the recommended threads in the stitch guide, and interpretation and instruction were provided by Lynne Bay, owner of Needlepoint for You in Troy, Michigan.
