The Academy Heart (The Jody Adams Award)

This is a contemporary whitework design from Trish Burr. It was a digital purchase so I manually transferred the design onto the white Southern Belle ground, after scaling it a touch larger. I used Appleton wool for the collar instead of the DMC floche called for by the instructions. The more significant changes were the elimination of most of the dark outlines on the hat and the hair curl. These, together with the wool collar and the brighter colors, softened and warmed the whole piece.
