2016 Third Place, Professional Non-Original Without Instruction.

After spending three summers vacationing with granddaughters (4 to 8), this piece was stitched in memory of our family holiday. The water is long and short with three different shades of blue silk. The sand uses Medici wool needle-blended in basketweave to show some shading. The sky is stitched in skip tent so that the change in paint color could be seen. Those clouds are brushed split Gobelin.
