First Place
There can’t be a needleworker alive who didn’t admire this piece when Joyce Lukomski first designed and stitched it. Being a beader also, this was a must-do piece for me but I hesitated because I wasn’t sure I would ever use it.
When I heard that Joyce was teaching it for the last time, I signed up. I stitched and beaded the piece and then it sat in my closet. I was terrified at the prospect of putting it together and couldn’t seem to find a finisher willing to bury all the threads from the loomed flap. So it sat until a stitching buddy from one of my guilds told me that she had finished hers with no trouble. She finally shamed me into doing the work (which wasn’t as difficult as I thought).
