Carole H. Lake was an EGA-certified teacher who specialized in manipulating common and uncommon threads and stitches to create textured effects, with a special interest in the effect and symbolism of color. Her award-winning work has been displayed in exhibitions throughout the Southwest.  Prior to her retirement from traveling teaching, she taught and designed for over thirty years. Subsequently she taught online classes, and was the author of a number of needlework books.

Carole always felt that service is an essential element of being involved in the needlework world, and she served both on national boards and was active locally in her EGA and ANG chapters. She was honored and privileged to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from NAN in 2017, which she considered the capstone of her needlework career.
