Honorable Mention

I am particularly fond of this piece. Not only was it fun to stitch, but some of the threads and stitch patterns have given this piece so much life.

Kathy Stolpin of the Needleworks in Birmingham Michigan is a wonderful teacher. She has the artistic ability to look at a painted canvas and make it come alive. With her guidance, I learned to crochet the rooster’s wattle and comb, making it appear real.

I am currently working on a rooster that has a body of zebra stripes. I will hang both of these works together on the wall in my dining room. “A Leopard cannot change his spots”… but a rooster may!
