Night on the Town is another in a new series of charted designs that I am creating. Again, my goal is to convey visual interest and a uniqueness in the piece that relates to its title. In Night on the Town, I use a dramatic black and gray with a touch of red as my colorway, to represent a feeling of elegance for a special night out. The threads are varied, again, cottons, silks, and metallics for a bit of sheen and sparkle. Again, I have designed the value groupings in the piece to keep the viewer interested and to generate a sense of awe. I also added a few beads for dramatic accent. I wanted to dress up for a Night on the Town.
