This piece was my final Teacher Certification piece. Needless to say, it was a rough year for me. I based the figure on a Noh (Japanese)Theatre actor. In the story, this man had lost the war, turned his family over to his enemies and was doing the honorable thing by committing suicide. It is done in silk threads and silver on silk fabric.
